YOUR ROLE
- Design and build the test framework: You design and build an automated system test framework that can test our customers' secure networking products across a range of network setups.
- Integrate network equipment: You integrate and automate tests against switches, firewalls and other network equipment from different vendors.
- Model realistic and adversarial topologies: You model realistic and adversarial network topologies to validate product behaviour under varied conditions.
- Automate and test manually where needed: You write and maintain automated test cases, and you run manual tests where automation isn't (yet) the right answer.
- Find root causes: You diagnose and root-cause failures across the network, system and application layers.
- Work as part of the team: You take part in agile rituals such as stand-ups and planning meetings, and you are actively involved in technical decisions.
- Collaborate across disciplines: You work with software developers and embedded hardware engineers to deliver robust and secure solutions.
YOUR PROFILE
- Experience: 5 to 8 years
- Networking background: You have deep knowledge of networking, including routing, switching, firewalls and common protocols.
- Engineering skills: You have solid programming skills and can build and maintain a test framework, not just write test cases. Python, Go or similar languages for tooling and automation are ideal.
- Testing experience: You have several years of hands-on experience with system or integration testing in a networked or product environment.
- Automation and DevOps: You are familiar with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar), and you feel at home in Linux environments.
- A plus: You have worked with equipment from vendors such as Cisco or Juniper, and you understand VPN, cryptography or secure networking concepts.
- Mindset: You are curious and adaptable, and you approach complex problems in a structured way. You pay attention to detail without losing sight of delivery goals. You document well and communicate clearly, both in code and in conversation.
- Language skills: Very good English skills, written and spoken.
