- NTE 31 Dec 2026 with possible extension until 11 months BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The Travel Restrictions Analyst will focus on global travel regulations, providing critical support to the Travel & Protocol Units to ensure the safety and security of WFP employees while traveling. M S D A is working on a Travel platform accessible by all travelers worldwide, generated in response to global insecurity. The data analysed in the platform includes: A. Countries internal/external travel restrictions B. Travel requirements. C. Specific requirements in Transit and upon arrival to Emergency Areas D. Airlines global operations E. Liaise with WFP Security and UNDSS on latest guidelines. The incumbent will be responsible for the monitoring of data sources and ensure new information is added and updated into the WFP Travel Restrictions table in a timely and sensible manner. She will be requested to coordinate with the Travel Restrictions team members full time coverage of the table and generation of reports. She will also ensure consistent use of the most updated data sources and maintenance of most updated version of the map. She will be requested to answer specific queries as these are received, and to regularly share data with WFP offices in the field and partner organization, as well as keeping statistics. This position is based in Rome, reports to the Head of Protocol/Travel Manager and ultimately to the Chief of Administration Branch. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Specifically, the consultant will have the following
responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the WFP Travel Restrictions platform: 1. Searching, identifying, and monitoring official sources of information to be used to update data, keeping abreast with the latest developments. 2. Support the Travel team by sharing the latest updates changes made by COs 3. Structuring content for each country and territory so that is easily, understandable, and comprehensive 4. Liaising with colleagues in Security and the field offices (e.g., Regional Security Officer and Travel Focal Points) to be updated on latest travel restrictions implemented in countries where WFP operates. 5. Liaising with colleagues in WFP Emergency Preparedness GIS on updates concerning the WFPTravel Restriction platform and solving technical issues as they appear 6. Liaising with colleagues in the Protocol Office to validate information from governments relative to travel restrictions. 7. Running reports for management upon request extracting information from the map data layer and agreed official sources and other data sets 8. Any other relevant duties as assigned. DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: Structured data constantly updated based on the latest travel restrictions information released by official sources. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Advanced university degree in Human Resources Management, Capability Development, Adult Education, Public or Business Administration Management, or any other relevant field. In alternative, a First University degree with additional years of related work experience or training /courses.

Experience in change management / transformation projects. Experience in Instructional Design and creation of interactive training resources Direct experience with WFP preferable Extensive proficiency in MS Office 365 applications Knowledge about WFP corporate collaborative tools such as SharePoint Experience in similar data analyst role An understanding of sensibilities in the international system Excellent oral, written and editing skills Communicates sensitively, effectively, and creatively across different stakeholder groups Interacts effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment. Contribute to the creation of an information-sharing environment, collaborate and cooperate with all team members when located remotely Very strong organizational and planning skills Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
