We are looking for a Data Platform Architect to join our headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), reporting directly to the Head of IT and functionally to the Coordination of Architecture, Data & Services.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the company data infrastructure to support strategic business objectives. The Data Architect translates business requirements into robust technical data solutions, ensuring data is structured, integrated, secure, and accessible to authorized users. You will be responsible to provide leadership in data architecture design, platform management, data governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your main activities will be:
Designs and evolves the data architecture aligned to IT strategy
Designs conceptual, logical, and physical data models consistent with business and analytics requirements
Creates blueprints and roadmaps for the evolution of data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and data platforms
Develops long-term data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives and enterprise strategic direction
Defines standards, principles, and frameworks for enterprise data architecture
Maintains and updates data architecture documentation and artifacts
Translates business & analytics needs into data solutions
Analyzes internal/external data sources and existing systems, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities
Defines data storage, organization, accessibility, and performance requirements
Promotes scalable data sharing models through reusable data products, federated governance and domain-based ownership.
Architects data platforms, pipelines & integrations
Defines the architecture of data pipelines and end-to-end orchestration strategies
Designs integration patterns (batch/real-time), APIs, and data flows for multi-source consolidation and creation of reusable data products
Establishes frameworks for data quality, validation, and monitoring of data flows
Defines technology & infrastructure for data
Designs data technology architecture (cloud/on premises/hybrid) and guides technology selection, including cloud platforms, databases DBMS, integration tools, and analytics platforms; evaluates emerging technologies and cloud solutions to meet strategic needs
Manages data infrastructure lifecycle, performance, and costs by optimizing cloud resource usage for efficiency and supervising migration, upgrade, and decommissioning of data systems
Documents, communication & enables the organization
Produces and updates guidelines, standards, and data architecture documentationAbout you
University Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles
Hands-on experience designing and building complex data solutions
Experience with multiple database technologies (relational, cloud-based)
Experience with data warehouse and data lake architecture
Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration
Experience and great knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
Experience in designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions
Experience and knowledge of IT Infrastructure technologies
Experience in Service Management
General IT Topics knowledge
English knowledge, German will be considered a plus
Relevant certifications from cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure)
Data Modeling & Architecture (expert-level)

Programming Languages (e.g. Java)
