- Country Office Support Hub DUTY STATION (City, Country): Rome DURATION: 3 months Under the overall guidance of the Secretary of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS), the incumbent will: -Provide high-level strategic advice and support to the CFS Chairperson and CFS Secretary on priorities, positioning, outreach and engagement with external stakeholders, including in the preparation for and during the CFS 54 in October 2026, drawing on the extensive experience of the incumbent with WFP, the Rome-based agencies and other UN organizations, in order to leverage an established CFS network and knowledge of the global food security and nutrition landscape.
· Follow up in the finalization, discussion and presentation of the outcomes of the CFS workstream on “Collaborative governance for Coordinated Policy Responses to Emerging Global Food Crises Towards Sustainable Agriculture and Food System Transformation” in the context of the CFS 54 Plenary in October, including the topics on healthy diets and data systems for food security and nutrition, as well as facilitating the identification by the CFS Bureau of the incoming thematic discussions for this workstream in 2027.
· Provide strategic and technical advice on food security and nutrition to the CFS Chair and CFS Secretary, in particular to support the integration and mainstreaming of nutrition across CFS priorities, activities and policy processes under the MYPoW 2024–2027, as well as supporting and facilitating engagement with UN agencies linked to this area of work (World Health Organization, UNICEF and other UN relevant), prioritizing those based in Geneva, Switzerland.
· Support CFS resource mobilization and strategic partnerships to support the implementation of CFS uptake activities, including by identifying opportunities with donors and other strategic partners, especially from the Near East region.
· Support the engagement of the CFS with UN Agencies and Civil Society organizations based in Geneva, in particular those related with the implementation of the Right to Food, such as the Office of the UN High-Commissioner on Human Rights and the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement (SUN), to facilitate the implementation of CFS uptake activities and the development of activities to raise awareness about the CFS in Geneva.
· Provide technical advice about the use of the CFS Framework for Action for Food Security and Nutrition in Protracted Crises to support the implementation of the project “The Right to Food in Conflict Context and Protracted Crises” (GCP/GLO/1448/IRE-F) in collaboration with the FAO Right to Food Team and facilitate the CFS engagement at the Working Group: International Collaboration and People-Centred Reconstruction and Recovery.
· Perform other tasks in support of the CFS Multi‑Year Programme of Work 2024–2027 (MYPoW), including travel, if and when required. Key performance indicators Expected Outputs: Required Completion Date:

· Effectively supported, including through required official travel, the strategic advice and technical engagements of the CFS Chairperson and the CFS Secretary in the context of the CFS 54 Plenary in October 2026, ensuring timely participation in key meetings, consultations and outreach activities.

· Effectively supported the CFS Chairperson’s engagement with key and high-level stakeholders, including Ministers from the Middle East Region, as well as representatives of UN Agencies and Civil Society Organizations.
· Before the end of the contract
· Effectively supported the CFS Chairperson’s presentation and discussion of the outcomes of the two annual dialogues of the CFS workstream on “Collaborative governance for Coordinated Policy Responses to Emerging Global Food Crises Towards Sustainable Agriculture and Food System Transformation” at CFS 54 in October 2026, as well as provide technical advice on potential thematic areas of discussion for this workstream in 2027 to be approved by the CFS Bureau in December 2026.
· By December 2026
· Effectively supported the discussions and CFS Decisions, at the CFS 54 and during CFS Bureau meetings, of policy recommendations and activities that integrate and mainstreaming nutrition across CFS priorities under the MYPoW 2024-2027 and follow up to strengthened partnerships with UN Agencies and Civil Society Organizations based in Geneva to develop joint activities to promote the use and implementation of CFS policy products.
· By December 2026
· Prepare, in coordination with the CFS Secretary, a portfolio of activities to be presented to donors in the Middle East Region to support the uptake of CFS policy products.

· Engage and participate, on behalf of the CFS Secretariat, in the activities organized by the FAO Right to Food Team in the framework of the Working Group: International Collaboration and People-Centred Reconstruction and Recovery, established under the Project “The Right to Food in Conflict Context and Protracted Crises” and prepare the relevant technical information to prepare the presentation of the outcomes in November 2026.
