JOB TITLE: DOTS Release Manager TYPE OF CONTRACT: CST UNIT/DIVISION: TECX DUTY STATION (City, Country): Rome (HQ), Italy DURATION: 3 months BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. The Technology Division (TEC) of the World Food Programme (WFP) is leading the enterprise-wide deployment of an analytics and reporting platform called DOTS which is powered by the Palantir Foundry solution. DOTS is at the center of TEC’s data ecosystem integrating data from multiple data sources, transforming data to create a curated dataset representing WFP’s operational model and surfacing business insights to support decision-making. The DOTS Release Manager works with DOTS teams and business users to ensure the solutions on DOTS align to platform standards before release to production. All projects use rapid iteration cycles and rely on constant feedback from end-users, decision-makers, project focal points and fellow team members. The incumbent is expected to manage the different cycles, check documentation is up-to-date and provide the final quality assurance gateway. Combining knowledge of project management, agile methodology and excellent communication skills, the DOTS Release Manager will be comfortable discussing platform project requirements with technical teams and persevere in ensuring quality products are being released on the DOTS platform. Reporting to the DOTS Platform Governance Lead, part of the TECX branch in the TEC Division, the DOTS Release Manager will own the end-to-end process of onboarding new projects, continuous improvements of project documentation, quality discussions with DOTS implementation teams and ultimately, the release of project deliverables to the DOTS production environment. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning •Build release and submission schedules and communicate those to stakeholders •Review documentation requirements with implementation team •Review DevOps entries by implementation teams to ensure alignment with release cycle. •Create necessary project folders on DOTS Implementation •Ensure early drafts of documentation are ready for review (e.g. object specifications, object views, form design, transformation and functional documentation). •Check that validation is occurring against drafts. •Track the progress of releases and find issues, if any. Always work to improve the process of release. •Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release •Facilitates Go/No-Go meetings prior to release to ensure that all critical stakeholders are aligned and that quality milestones have been achieved. Release •Create the Release Note. •Check Endorsement of Objects and Datasets and publication in DOTS Data Catalogue •Publish Release Notes and Object Specifications •Publish data in Tableau •Conduct Post implementation reviews for failed releases. Other •Providing end user/project team support through the DOTS Support structure, as needed •Perform other duties as requested DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: 1.
All release documentation and quality gates are completed for Releases and published. 2.
Release process metrics developed (including quality assurance), metrics collected and regular reporting on achievement. 3.
Tableau is updated with new released data. 4.
Continuous improvement of release processes 5.
Alignment of release cycle with project sprints. 6.
Early documentation reinforced with implementation teams to avoid delays in later stages of a project. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
University degree in human centred design, information technology management, data analytics/management, computer science, business administration or other relevant disciplines.
Experience:
4+ years of relevant and progressively more responsible project management and/or business analysis work. 1+ year direct experience working on projects with Agile development methodologies. Desirable: 1+ year Experience working with Palantir Foundry and knowledge of WFP business processes. Knowledge &

•Solid understanding of SDLC and software release cycle •Excellent written and verbal communication, professional writing, and presentation skills •Excellent interpersonal skills in working with colleagues, other stakeholders, management, and business units. •Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment and remain appropriately detail-oriented •Demonstrated customer-centric orientation and excellent organizational skills Languages: Fluency (level C) in English language.
