About Arke Arke builds software that helps manufacturing companies manage their operations
- from purchasing and inventory to production and order fulfilment. We believe technology should adapt to how a business works, helping teams move beyond fragmented spreadsheets and rigid management systems. We’re looking for a hands-on Full Stack Engineer to help turn our existing client installations into a stable, maintainable foundation for the next stage of Arke’s growth. The role Your first priority will be to bring together a number of separate client installations into a coherent technical platform. You’ll understand what exists today, identify what should be shared, and build reusable components that make the product more reliable and easier to develop. This requires both architectural judgment and practical delivery. You’ll decide where to standardise, where customer-specific behaviour belongs, and how to introduce improvements safely while customers continue using the software. Our stack is built with TypeScript, running on Google Cloud infrastructure, with deployments handled through Insforge. AI-powered engineering tools and workflows will be a core part of how you work.

What you'll do
• Assess the existing installations Map their architecture, dependencies, data models and customer-specific behaviour. Identify duplication, reliability issues and the highest-value opportunities for consolidation.
• Establish a shared technical foundation Define clear conventions and boundaries for common code, configuration and customer-specific extensions.
• Build reusable components Extract shared UI elements, business logic, backend services and integrations into well-tested components that can be used across installations.
• Improve stability and maintainability Strengthen testing, error handling, monitoring, documentation and release practices.
• Deliver changes safely Plan incremental migrations, protect customer data and workflows, and make changes easy to validate and roll back.
• Work across the full stack Build and improve user interfaces, APIs, data models and integrations.
• Use AI effectively Incorporate AI tools into code exploration, implementation, testing, debugging and documentation, while taking responsibility for the quality of everything shipped.
• Connect engineering decisions to customer needs Understand the operational workflows behind the software and make sensible trade-offs between immediate requirements and long-term maintainability. What you'll bring
• Strong experience building and maintaining production applications in TypeScript across frontend and backend.
• Experience improving an existing codebase, consolidating separate implementations, or evolving customer-specific software into a shared product.
• Sound judgment about software architecture, reusable components and the right level of abstraction.
• Confidence working with databases, APIs, authentication, permissions and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud or comparable cloud infrastructure, including diagnosing production issues.
• Practical experience with AI coding assistants or agent-based development workflows, including reviewing generated code and validating its behaviour.
• A disciplined approach to testing, data integrity, security and safe releases.
• The ability to work independently, communicate trade-offs clearly and make progress when requirements or documentation are incomplete. Useful additional experience
• Manufacturing, inventory, procurement, order management or ERP software.
• Configurable SaaS products or systems supporting multiple customer deployments.
• Shared component libraries, monorepos and data migrations.
• Insforge or similar deployment platforms. What success looks like In your first few months, you’ll establish a clear picture of the existing installations and a practical consolidation roadmap. You’ll deliver the first shared components, demonstrate their adoption across installations, and introduce measurable improvements in reliability and release confidence. Over time, your work should make it easier to launch new customer installations, deliver improvements across the product and maintain customer-specific functionality without accumulating unnecessary duplication. Why join Arke? You’ll have meaningful ownership of the technical foundation of a product used to run real manufacturing operations. This is an opportunity to shape both the architecture and the engineering practices, with a direct connection between the software you build and the people who depend on it.
