The Opportunity – Senior Electrical Transmission Lines Engineer As part of our continued international expansion, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Transmission Lines Engineer to join our Milan office and play a key role in APD Global's international engineering team. This position will be permanently based in Milan, Italy, working directly on major transmission line projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will work closely with our Australian engineering teams, leading and contributing to the electrical design and performance assessment of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage transmission line projects, ranging from 33 kV to 500 kV. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your technical expertise to some of the region's most significant energy infrastructure projects, provide engineering leadership and help develop APD's growing engineering capability in Italy, all while remaining based in Milan.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and review electrical design and performance studies for overhead and underground transmission lines from 33 kV to 500 kV.
• Undertake conductor selection, thermal rating and transmission line performance assessments.
• Perform and review EMF, induced voltage, corona, radio interference and audible noise studies.
• Develop technical specifications for conductors, earthwires, OPGW, insulators and associated transmission line hardware.
• Support insulation coordination, lightning performance and line shielding studies.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure designs comply with relevant Australian, international and client standards.
• Undertake technical reviews, support construction and commissioning activities, and resolve complex engineering issues.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Skills and Experience Essential:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in transmission line engineering and design.
• Strong understanding of transmission line electrical behaviour and performance across high-voltage and extra-high-voltage networks.
• Proficiency in PLS software.
• Experience undertaking transmission line electrical performance studies.
• Knowledge of relevant BS EN, IEEE and IEC standards. Desirable:
• Experience working on Australian or New Zealand transmission line projects.
• Experience with overhead and underground transmission systems.
• Exposure to complex technical assessments, network integration and asset performance studies.
