Role Description The Footwear Designer role at aliveshoes.com is a full-time position based in Milan with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. The designer will develop original footwear concepts, create technical drawings, and translate ideas into detailed product designs ready for production in Le Marche. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trends, preparing mood boards, selecting materials and colors, and collaborating with product development and production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality. The role involves iterating on prototypes, refining fit and aesthetics, and maintaining design documentation throughout the product lifecycle. The Footwear Designer will also work closely with cross-functional partners to align designs with brand identity, customer needs, and market opportunities. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Technical Drawing and Industrial Design to translate creative concepts into accurate, production-ready specifications.
• Candidates should possess skills in Product Design and Product Development to manage the design process from concept through prototyping to final samples.
• Candidates should possess skills in creating Mood Boards to research trends, define design directions, and communicate visual concepts effectively.
• Experience in footwear or fashion design, including knowledge of materials, construction methods, and fit considerations, is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency with design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD tools, or 3D modeling software) and strong visual communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, give and receive feedback constructively, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Formal education in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working proficiency in English; Italian language skills are a plus to support collaboration with local manufacturing partners.
