Posizione:
The Functional Pack Design Release Engineer (DRE) is the engineer owner for the synthesis of the new xEV Batteries services for LCV Applications and has the responsibility of guiding the requirements definition according to all the boundary conditions of the component and installation (performance, vehicle, safety, process. Homologation etc.).
The Functional Pack DRE is responsible for managing and negotiate all the design functional objectives for a defined battery usage and application.
The Functional Pack DRE collaborates with the HW Pack DRE that mainly follows the HW and integration related topics and together are the counterparts of the Family manager and Battery Chief engineer.
Main activities
• Responsible for the synthesis of battery pack services (performance, durability, safety, functional thermal, release EE battery overall architecture)
• Ensure the reporting and the escalations towards the projects at the battery pack level for functional topics
• Negotiate the global battery functional specification with internal and external actors (for example supplier)
• Define & negotiate and share functional objectives and architecture for Performance, Thermal, Safety, Durability, End-Of-Life Properties
• Coordinate the writing of functional specifications with the battery subsystems
• Provide and ensure the timing of the battery pack development, coordinating and supporting core-engineering team members
• Support the SFMEA and DFMEA progresses at the pack level within the pack safety technical manager coordination
• Coordinate Performance & Durability Simulations
• Coordinate (and in certain cases able to) Battery System Data Analysis & Performance Analysis
• Support the RFI, RFQ and follow the supplier in the case of the battery buy pack
• Support the HW DRE during the reporting for the battery chief engineering area (highlights, project milestones), in absence of a formal battery assistant chief engineer
• For buy battery pack, Assist and help in root cause analysis of field/warranty failures, update GIMS (Global Issue Mgnt System) and mitigation slides with the latest info till the PCA (Permanent Corrective Action) is implemented
• Support the DFMEA progress at the pack level within the pack safety technical manager coordination
Requisiti:
• Experience in functional development: controls, testing and system development (EE & calibration)
• Master degree or PHD in Material science and engineering in electrochemistry, electrotechnology, energy, mechanical or automotive with dedicated experience in system engineering
• Functioning principles of engineering propulsion systems
• xFMEA experience
• Know test standards to ensure pack integrity (vibrations, thermal propagation, crash, safety, …)
• Hardware and Functional Design (internal & external customers/suppliers) – Mainly Mechanical and Thermal design background
• Minimum knowledge of the general technologies of vehicles (performances, powertrains architectures, thermal management, electronics ECU, safety)
• Electrical and/or thermal experience with respect to durability cycles and related rationales
• NX, CODEP and eBOM experience
• Know battery technologies and/or electrified propulsion systems, including ruin modes knowledge
• Experience with beStandard and Engineering standards in general
