SiciLINO | Palermo, Sicily | Full-time
SiciLINO is building a new industrial flax and natural-fibre value chain in Sicily — connecting agriculture, industrial processing and European markets.
As the project moves from development and financing towards industrial implementation, we are looking for a Business Development & Investment Manager to join our core team in Palermo.
This is not a traditional sales role.
We are looking for someone who can understand, develop and defend the business and investment case behind a greenfield industrial project — working closely with the Founder & CEO, investors, financial institutions, public funding bodies, industrial partners and external advisers.
The roleYou will contribute to the financial and commercial development of SiciLINO, including:
• developing and maintaining business cases, financial models and investment scenarios;
• CAPEX, OPEX, revenue, cash-flow, working-capital and ramp-up analysis;
• preparing investment material, financial presentations and supporting due-diligence processes;
• analysing commercial opportunities, pricing, volumes and offtake economics;
• supporting the development of financing structures combining public funding, equity and debt;
• working with investors, banks, advisers and institutional financing partners;
• evaluating assumptions, risks and sensitivities behind investment decisions;
• translating technical and operational information into clear financial and commercial implications;
• supporting strategic negotiations and industrial partnerships;
• contributing to the continued development of SiciLINO's industrialisation and financing strategy. You will work closely with the rest of the SiciLINO team, but you should be comfortable taking ownership of your area and moving work forward independently. Who we are looking forYour background may be in corporate finance, project finance, investment analysis, industrial business development, transaction/advisory, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing or another investment-intensive sector. We are looking for candidates with proven professional experience in developing, analysing or supporting real investment cases. This is not intended as an entry-level position. You should be comfortable asking questions such as: Does this assumption actually hold? What happens to the investment case if it changes? What information would an investor need before making a decision? And what do we need to verify before committing capital? Experience with industrial greenfield projects is highly valuable, but previous experience in flax or natural fibres is not required. We expect you to have
• proven experience in financial modelling, investment analysis, business cases or corporate/project finance;
• a strong track record of working with financial and commercial analysis in real investment or business decisions;
• strong financial and analytical skills;
• the ability to challenge assumptions and assess investment risks and sensitivities;
• the ability to communicate complex financial and commercial information clearly;
• confidence working with senior stakeholders, investors and external advisers;
• strong ownership and sound judgement;
• the ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment where not every answer is known in advance;
• professional working proficiency in English and Italian. Why SiciLINO?This is an opportunity to join at an unusually early stage and help shape a new industrial company from the ground up. The role is designed to grow with the company. As SiciLINO moves from financing and development into industrial implementation and production, the responsibilities are expected to develop accordingly. LocationPalermo, Sicily The role is intended to become part of SiciLINO's core team in Palermo. Candidates currently living elsewhere who are genuinely willing to relocate to Sicily are also welcome to apply.
