At Tekton Labs, we are seeking a Data Migration Technical Specialist to drive the technical execution of a major platform modernization and data migration project. Working closely with cross-functional technology and architecture teams, you will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and executing data migration scripts, as well as establishing data quality controls and reconciliation processes. Your work will directly ensure that high-volume transactional data is accurately and securely transferred while maintaining full data integrity and operational continuity.

Responsibilities:
• Analyze legacy source data structures and target data models to document mapping specifications, conversion rules, and gap analysis.
• Design, develop, maintain, and version-control robust migration scripts for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading (ETL/ELT).
• Build automated technical reconciliation scripts and quality controls to validate record completeness, formats, totals, and referential integrity.
• Execute unit testing, technical rehearsals, and mock conversions across non-production, integration, and UAT environments.
• Provide dedicated technical troubleshooting and monitoring support during critical cutover windows and post-migration stabilization.
• Generate detailed technical documentation, migration runbooks, parameter guides, and execution logs to ensure full end-to-end traceability.
• Coordinate technical activities with cross-functional teams spanning architecture, QA, infrastructure, operations, and third-party vendors. Must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience developing, validating, and executing data migration scripts for system conversions or platform transformations.
• Strong, advanced SQL development skills across relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Practical experience building ETL/ELT processes for data extraction, transformation, loading, and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in automation scripting using Python, Shell, PowerShell, PL/SQL, or T-SQL.
• Solid experience establishing data quality controls, validation criteria, and error-handling routines.
• Advanced English and Spanish communication skills. Nice to have:
• Experience in financial services, acquiring platforms, payment processing, or transactional systems.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT orchestration tools (Talend, Informatica, Airflow, SSIS, dbt).
• Familiarity with PCI compliance, sensitive data handling, and data masking techniques.
