A production line stops. A technician opens a 400-page electrical schematic and starts looking. Sometimes it takes twenty minutes. Sometimes it's 3 a.m., it takes six hours, and the plant burns thousands of euros an hour.
We build the software that tells them where to look. Now we need someone to make it install itself anywhere.
🔧 DevOps / Platform Engineer, E-Plato
📍 Milan, on-site
· Full-time 💰 RAL €55,000–65,000 + equity + meal vouchers THE PRODUCT Socrate reads electrical schematics in every format the factory uses, reads PLC code from any vendor, connects the two and points the technician to the fault. It's not a chatbot with RAG bolted on: every answer traces back to the exact component and the exact line of code it came from. In a plant, that's the only way anyone trusts it. THE COMPANY E-Plato, Milan. VC-backed, Bocconi for Innovation (B4i) alumni. Multinational industrial customers who pay, use the product every day, and renew. THE ROLE You'll be our first DevOps / Platform Engineer. Not to babysit servers: to turn Socrate into a product that installs itself in any customer environment. We run on AWS with Terraform and Kubernetes. Customers want Socrate on their own cloud, whatever the provider, and some want it inside their plants, on networks that never touch the internet. Today every installation still takes too much manual work, and every new customer makes that problem bigger. There's more to fix than one person can do in a year. Part of the job is deciding what comes first. You'll work directly with our CTO.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
→ First 60 days: make installs repeatable. Reusable Terraform modules for AWS and at least one other cloud, Helm charts that install cleanly anywhere, and a runbook so installs stop living in one person's head. → From month 3: push-button deployments. One automated path from signed contract to running instance, CI/CD with safe upgrades and rollbacks, and installs in restricted networks (private registries, proxies, on-prem, air-gapped). → Ongoing: the customer's IT is part of the job. Technical calls, security questionnaires, and on-site or remote support during installs. YOU HAVE → 4+ years in DevOps, Platform, SRE or Cloud, with infrastructure you built, not only maintained → Terraform (your own reusable modules), solid AWS plus Azure or GCP → Kubernetes in production and Helm charts you wrote → CI/CD and scripting in Bash and Python or Go → Native Italian and C1 English → A builder's mindset: no big team, no ticket queue Bonus points for on-prem or air-gapped installs, k3s/RKE2, Argo CD, Vault, Prometheus/Grafana, or OT environments.
WHAT WE OFFER
→ RAL €55,000–65,000 based on experience → Equity in E-Plato → Meal vouchers worth €10 per working day → Real ownership: your decisions ship to production and to customer plants
