Senior Architect – Design Manager

Job description
OBR is seeking a Senior Architect – Design Manager with at least 10 years of experience in large-scale international projects, including site supervision and technical design. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of OBR’s design approach and contribute to the firm’s ongoing architectural research and development. The ideal candidate should have solid design skills, extensive technical knowledge, and a proven ability to manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary Design Teams. The successful candidate will coordinate the Design Team and external consultants, liaise directly with clients and contractors, and support strategic decision-making together with the Partners. Advanced knowledge of Revit/BIM and AutoCAD is required. Abilities required: self-starter with a proactive attitude; excellent verbal and written communication skills; collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, determination and resilience; independent thinker with excellent listening skills; culturally aware and sensitive, with an understanding of architecture as a civic, social, and cultural practice; excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and oversee multiple activities; sound problem-solving skills and resilient thinking; excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; positive attitude with the ability to turn challenges into design opportunities; meticulous, with keen attention to written and graphic detail; ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality

Key responsibilities
coordinate the Design Team; support strategic decision-making together with the Partners; direct, coordinate, and oversee the production of project design and construction documents; represent OBR in communications with clients, consultants, and contractors; review technical design drawings developed by the OBR Design Team; review construction documents developed by contractors; verify compliance with technical specifications and applicable codes and regulations; provide architectural oversight during site visits; prepare and circulate reports following on-site meetings with the Client, Contractor, and Construction Management team; provide technical supervision and recommendations to ensure that the works adhere to OBR’s design intent.
