You will work closely with the EMEA customs community and contribute to keeping our operations efficient and fully compliant with EU laws and regulations. What you can expect in the role Take ownership of managing customs authorizations and help ensure full compliance with national, EU and international trade and customs legislation, including the Union Customs Code and EU legislation. Own and continuously improve customs processes for import, export, transit and special procedures such as customs warehouse and end-use procedure, including documentation and process controls. Represent the company in dealings with Customs Authorities, including operational matters, activities, applications, declarations, amendments, audits, and any requested information or documentation. Provide practical operational customs support and training to key internal departments and stakeholders across, including Logistics, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Tax, IT, Customs brokers and Export Control. Monitor and evaluate customs activities handled by external customs brokers and internal teams, identifying risks, costs and improvement opportunities to ensure an optimal customs operating model. Coordinate customs duty payments, refund applications and proof of export from the European Union, supporting to ensure proper export management in accordance with VAT regulations. Drive customs process improvements, standardization and cost optimization, while leading local and regional projects to implement legal requirements and streamline procedures. Support the company in obtaining and acting as system owner for Customs application/tools. Maintain AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certification and Known Consignor certification with ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority), while ensuring smooth access to required customs systems, applications, databases and digital certificates. Requirements A degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, Economics, or equivalent experience. Several years of relevant experience in customs and/or trade compliance. Good knowledge of customs regulations, customs procedures, the Union Customs Code, relevant EU legislation, and Free Trade Agreements. Experience with AEO certification is considered a plus. Knowledge of Export Control regulations is an advantage.
