Start your journey with us at the brand new Hampton by Hilton Bergamo, set to open in April 2027.
Hampton by Hilton Milan Bergamo is a new 257-room hotel opening in 2027 at Orio al Serio, a 15-minute walk from Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY). Designed around early and late flights, it has a ground-floor social hub with a restaurant, a bar, a lounge and a co-working zone. Bergamo's Città Alta is 5 km away and Milan is about 50 km.
Join the founding team of this new property and help shape its opening
We are looking for a hands-on and motivated General Manager to lead the hotel from pre-opening through launch and beyond: building the team, setting the culture, and delivering strong commercial and guest satisfaction results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead all pre-opening activities, including the opening critical path, recruitment and training of the full hotel team, setting up systems and procedures, and preparing the hotel for Hilton opening approval.
• Lead and manage all hotel operations after opening, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Breakfast/F&B, Engineering, Sales and Finance.
• Ensure full implementation of and compliance with Hilton and Hampton by Hilton Brand Standards.
• Prepare hotel budgets, forecasts and business plans for corporate and owner approval; review forecasts and the balanced scorecard.
• Direct actions required to maximise profitability, increase service levels and improve team member satisfaction.
• Oversee sales, marketing and revenue strategy and results; lead sales and marketing strategy meetings and actively participate in securing business.
• Build the hotel’s presence in the local market by developing relationships with corporate clients, the airport, travel partners and the local community.
• Lead the department heads to ensure that profit, service and team member satisfaction goals are met or exceeded.
• Hire, supervise, coach and evaluate department heads and key personnel; develop the skills of direct reports and support the growth of high-potential team members.
• Communicate regularly with the hotel owners and partners on results and align strategic plans for the future development of the hotel.
• Work closely with Apex Alliance corporate departments on implementing standards, procedures and policies, and provide feedback on company-wide initiatives. REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager, ideally within Hilton or another international hotel brand; experience in the select-service or focused-service segment is an advantage.
• Pre-opening experience is strongly preferred.
• Leadership experience of 5 years or more, with a proven track record of achieving revenue and service objectives.
• Extensive knowledge of hotel operations, sales and marketing, revenue management, human resources and hotel financial processes.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage large amounts of information and give clear direction.
• Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train and lead a team of professionals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and work effectively under time and resource constraints.
• Ability to work effectively with owners, guests and team members with tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
WE OFFER
• A unique opportunity to open and lead a brand new Hampton by Hilton hotel.
• A competitive package depending on the candidate’s competencies and experience.
• A performance-based bonus scheme linked to agreed business and operational objectives.
• Interesting and challenging work in an international environment.
• Additional benefits such as private health insurance;
• Access to Hilton Team Member travel benefits and discounted rates in hotels
• Training and development opportunities, including Hilton brand training and leadership programmes.
