Job purpose:

As a Budget Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, monitoring, and analysis of PFP's global budget resources, helping ensure that financial resources are allocated efficiently and managed effectively to deliver results for children. Through budget analysis, financial reporting, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement of business processes and reporting tools, you will contribute to informed decision-making, strong financial stewardship, and the achievement of UNICEF's fundraising and partnership objectives worldwide. This role is crucial for maintaining financial integrity and supporting the organization's mission to advocate for the rights of every child.



Responsibilities:

The Budget Associate will be responsible for supporting the planning, monitoring, and analysis of PFP's global budget resources. This includes assisting in budget preparation, ensuring accurate budget execution, and diligently monitoring budgets, commitments, expenditures, and fund utilization. The role involves preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and management information, as well as supporting financial analyses. A key aspect is managing IRC Info Risk and Compliance (IRC) Requests. The associate will also be responsible for processing and monitoring financial transactions using ERP systems, performing financial reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Coordinating with multiple stakeholders and providing operational finance support in a client-oriented environment are essential. The position requires strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy. Ensuring adherence to financial controls, internal procedures, and compliance requirements is paramount.



Education:

Completion of Secondary Education is required. Professional and/or university courses related to the field of work are highly desirable.

Work

experience:

At least 6 years of progressively responsible work experience in finance, accounting, financial management, financial operations, budget management, investment fund administration, or another relevant financial management area is required.



Skills:

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, VISION), Financial reconciliations and account analysis, Budget monitoring and fund utilization tracking, Financial reporting and analysis, Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Stakeholder coordination and client-oriented support, Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines, Knowledge of financial controls and compliance, Experience with Power BI or other BI tools (Desirable), Experience with IPSAS or other international accounting standards (Desirable), Experience in international organizations (Desirable), Knowledge of UNICEF financial systems (Desirable)
