The role
We are looking for a Project Manager. Not the kind that lives inside a Gantt chart. Not the general-contractor type who moves paper between trades and lets the work happen elsewhere. We are looking for someone who has been close to the manufacturing floor, who has watched projects go right and go wrong from the inside, and who at some point decided that the next thing to learn was how to keep the whole thing from breaking.
A fabricator who became a project manager. An installer who learned the contract side. A studio operator who
understands how a piece is actually made. The path matters less than the practical mind it produces.
You will own the journey of every project from the moment an order is signed to the day installation is signed off.
Your job is to make sure nothing falls between us and the other stakeholders: no missed dimensions, no late approvals, no detail that arrives as a surprise on site. We already have a Chief of Installation, an in-house installer, and a design team. You will not replace any of them. You will be the person who makes their work possible by holding everything else together. This is not a purely technical role. WOOD-SKIN is a company built by designers for designers. Our clients come to us for the design intelligence we carry as much as for the surfaces we manufacture, and the Project Manager is one of the faces of that intelligence in front of architects, contractors, and client teams. Your taste, your eye, and your design judgment will be drawn on every week, and they will matter as much as your project discipline.
What you will do
You'll run the contract side of every project, from signed order to completion, across the full design phase sequence: schematic design, design development, construction documents, shop drawings, fabrication, installation, and sign-off.
You'll always know where every project sits in this sequence. You'll treat information as one of the most valuable materials on the project — receiving it, organizing it, and checking it carefully, so that every drawing, specification, RFI, submittal, and document we produce reflects what's actually true on the project today, not what was true two weeks ago.
You'll help keep every requirement of the project on track through the entire arc of the work: fire ratings, acoustic performance, logistics, shipping, customs and duties, certifications, testing protocols, supplier management, mock-up approvals, material approvals, sample approvals. Complex contract projects have a lot of moving parts, and your role is to help make sure nothing falls through the cracks, and that what leaves our studio matches what was promised.
You'll be the interface between WOOD-SKIN and the other stakeholders: architects, interior designers, general contractors, sub-contractors, owners' representatives, and client teams. You'll keep these conversations clean, documented, and current.
You'll work hand in hand with the Chief of Installation, the design team, and our internal R&D and production functions.
You'll travel to the site when the work calls for it — this isn't a role you can run entirely from behind a screen.
You'll also help build the internal tools and workflows we need to do this work better. We're a growing studio, and the systems that work for us today won't be the ones we need in two years. You'll be one of the people shaping them, and helping make sure they actually get adopted.
Who you are
If you don't tick every one of these boxes but recognize yourself in most of them, we'd still love to hear from you — we care more about mindset and trajectory than a perfect match on paper.
You write and speak English at a professional level, or you're a native speaker — this matters, since our contract projects, especially in the US, run in English day to day.
You have taste and an eye for design. WOOD-SKIN is a company built by designers for designers, and we love when our Project Managers can speak the same visual language as our clients and architects — reading a drawing, understanding geometry and material, and following the intent behind a detail.
You've had meaningful experience delivering complex contract or B2B projects — international exposure, especially to the US market, is a real plus, but it doesn't have to be the centerpiece of your career so far. What matters more is that you're curious about different markets and comfortable navigating projects that cross geographies.
Time spent in production, on site, or in a workshop is something we value highly — it tends to shape a practical, grounded way of managing projects that's hard to learn any other way.
You enjoy keeping information organized and catching the small things before they become big problems — you understand how a missing dimension today can turn into a delayed shipment weeks down the line.
