The Finance Controller is responsible for full ownership of the month-end close and management accounts for Rayner Italia Srl, ensuring accurate, timely reporting to Group.

The position includes the execution of all Italian entity financial processes (P&L, BS, CF, controls, reconciliations, compliance, intercompany, inventory, revenue and COGS), and provides business partnering support to local commercial teams and the Head of Finance - Europe.

The role is based out of our Italia office in Agrate Brianza on a hybrid working model (3-4 days on-site per week, 1-2 days WFH).

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable, supplier reconciliations, payment runs and daily cash book/bank reconciliations.

  • Oversee inventory accounting, including stock movements, reconciliations, write-offs, returns and alignment with warehouse records.

  • Lead the monthly month-end close, preparing and posting accruals, prepayments, depreciation, COGS, FX and other journals.

  • Prepare the full monthly Management Pack, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, supporting schedules and variance analysis.

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations across key accounts.

  • Prepare and manage monthly intercompany recharges, invoices, loan adjustments and reconciliations across European entities.

  • Deliver accurate Group reporting schedules and supporting documentation, working closely with auditors and external advisors.

  • Manage inventory, COGS and ERP reporting processes, including system imports, stock reporting and Italy period close.

  • Support the implementation and ongoing development of NetSuite and other finance systems in Italy.

  • Ensure compliance with VAT, transfer pricing, tax and statutory accounting requirements, maintaining robust financial controls.

  • Provide financial insight through dashboards, commission calculations, overhead analysis, budgeting, forecasting and rolling outlooks.

  • Partner with Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams, providing timely financial analysis and supporting business and strategic decisions.

What Experience & Skills You Will Need:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Italian equivalent)
  • Previous and proven Finance Controller (management accountant) experience essential
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar).
  • Fluent English; strong working proficiency in Italian.
  • Understanding of local taxes
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting and Italian GAAP
  • Experience with transfer pricing and Intercompany processes (desirable)
