About the role:

As a Senior Supplier Performance Engineer you will be in charge of supplier's performance optimization. You will combine hands-on manufacturing engineering with structured supplier oversight to ensure that critical components and systems are produced safely, compliantly, and following quality and delivery commitments. You will follow critical manufacturing activities, resolve technical issues at source, and maintain direct visibility of execution.

You will report to the APS Supply Chain NSSS SPX Manager and be located at Italy. You will work 100% remotly with frequent business trips to suppliers and sub- suppliers in northern Italy (40% per year).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for supplier manufacturing processes including, forging, forming, machining, bending and material testing
  • Monitor supplier manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with approved critical technical, quality, and contractual requirements
  • Maintain visibility of production progress, milestones, risks and supporting adherence to the agreed schedule
  • Identify and assess manufacturing process issues, and supplier performance risks, driving recovery actions
  • Lead the resolution of supplier technical issues, deviations, and SCARs, ensuring root cause analysis, and disposition implementation
  • Assess supplier capability, readiness and capacity, communicating risks and required actions to relevant partners
  • Build working relationships with suppliers and our teams
  • Develop risk-based oversight strategies, including technical surveillance and inspection points

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering or a related engineering discipline;
  • Knowledge of complex component fabrication processes such as forging, forming, machining;
  • At least 7 years of experience working in manifacturing environments, preferibly in the nuclear, naval, aerospace, or defence sector. We also consider experiences in foundries or metalwork;
  • Knowledge of technical and manufacturing documentation and engineering drawings, verify its correct implementation during fabrication;
  • Proficiency in English and Italian;
  • Professional experience dialoguing directly with clients or supplier;

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The gross base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be €44.500,00 to €57.000,00 per year.
