Role summary
St. Louise School – Caviglia Campus (Milan) is looking for an Early Years Teacher on a maternity cover starting January 2027. Experience with the IB PYP curriculum is preferred, but other curricula are considered.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, play‑based education for children aged 2‑5.
- Plan and implement learning experiences that support cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Observe, assess and track children’s progress and use evidence to inform planning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent early years provision.
- Support early language, communication, numeracy and social development through structured and play‑based activities.
- Participate in school events, trips and extracurricular activities.
- Apply safeguarding, behaviour and pastoral care policies.
- Reflect on practice and engage in continuous professional development.
Ideal candidate
- Recognised early years teaching qualification.
- Experience with children aged 2‑5 in an early years or nursery setting.
- Knowledge of child development and frameworks such as EYFS, Reggio Emilia or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents and colleagues.
- Strong classroom management, organisation and planning abilities.
- Passionate, child‑centred approach that inspires curiosity and creativity.
- Reflective and adaptable mindset committed to continuous improvement.
- Valid EU passport and work permit.
