Job Summary

The intern will support the modernization of a legacy VB.NET industrial application into a web-based solution, while gaining hands‑on experience in software development, MES integration, and IT/OT systems within the Arco Felice plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review the existing VB.NET application and help document key features, data flows, and business logic.
  • Contribute to the development of a modern web application under the guidance of the IT team.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and plant users to collect requirements and validate prototypes.
  • Support basic integration activities with MES or other manufacturing data sources where applicable.
  • Prepare simple technical documentation and progress updates.

Required Qualifications

  • Student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of object‑oriented programming, databases, and at least one development language such as C#, VB.NET, Python, or JavaScript.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with web development, REST APIs, Git, SQL, or .NET technologies.
  • Interest in manufacturing systems, MES, Industry 4.0, or IT/OT integration.

Nice to have (Plus)

  • Analytical mindset, curiosity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in an industrial environment.
  • Previous academic or project experience with AI tools, web applications, automation, or industrial systems is a plus.

Working Conditions

On‑site at the Arco Felice plant, with direct exposure to production operations. Regular interaction with both IT and operational teams; some activities may require alignment with plant schedules.

The role supports plant digitalisation initiatives focused on improving application usability, data visibility, and connectivity between shopfloor and enterprise systems.
