About The Role
At Smartness, we help hospitality businesses make smarter decisions, simplify their operations, and improve their business performance through technology and AI. As a Junior Account Manager for the DACH market, you will be responsible for building and developing strong relationships with our hospitality customers, helping them get the most value from Smartness and supporting them in achieving their business objectives. You will act as a trusted partner for your customers: understanding how their business works, analysing their performance, identifying opportunities, and translating data and market dynamics into practical recommendations. This is not a traditional account management role. You will combine relationship management with business consulting, data analysis, and hospitality expertise. Over time, you will develop the ability to independently manage your portfolio and become a point of reference for your customers when making decisions about their business.
What will you do?
- Manage a portfolio of customers: Build long-term relationships with hotel owners, property managers, and hospitality professionals across the DACH market.
- Understand each business: Learn how your customers operate, their positioning, market, distribution setup, objectives, and main business challenges.
- Monitor performance: Regularly analyse KPIs, business performance, demand patterns, market trends, and other relevant data to identify opportunities and potential issues.
- Provide strategic recommendations: Turn data and business context into clear, actionable recommendations around pricing, demand, distribution, positioning, and the use of Smartness solutions.
- Support business decisions: Help customers understand the impact of different strategies and make better-informed decisions based on data rather than intuition alone.
- Drive product adoption: Ensure customers understand how to use Smartness effectively and help them integrate our solutions into their existing workflows.
- Follow results: Monitor the impact of recommendations and actions over time, identify areas that require further attention, and proactively suggest improvements.
- Educate customers: Help hospitality professionals understand data, market dynamics, and technology, adapting your approach to their level of expertise and digital maturity.
- Identify opportunities: Recognise when additional Smartness products, features, or services could help customers achieve their goals and collaborate with the relevant teams.
- Work cross-functionally: Share customer insights with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and other internal teams to improve both the customer experience and our solutions.
- Manage your own priorities: Organise your calendar, customer interactions, follow-ups, and portfolio activities with a high degree of autonomy.
- Stay close to the market: Develop a strong understanding of hospitality trends and business dynamics across the DACH market.
What are we looking for?
- Language proficiency: Fully fluent German, with professional fluency in English.
- Hospitality experience: 1–3 years of experience in hospitality, hotel operations, tourism, travel-tech, account management, consulting, or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Customer orientation: You enjoy building relationships and genuinely care about helping customers achieve tangible business results.
- Analytical mindset: You are comfortable working with KPIs, numbers, Excel/Google Sheets, and performance data.
- Business understanding: You are interested in understanding how hospitality businesses generate demand, manage pricing, distribution, occupancy, and profitability.
- Consultative approach: You don't simply answer customer requests; you ask questions, understand the underlying problem, and proactively propose solutions.
- Communication skills: You can explain data, recommendations, and complex concepts clearly to different types of stakeholders.
- Technology mindset: You are curious about SaaS, AI, and digital tools. Experience with hospitality technologies such as PMS, RMS, Channel Managers, or CRM is a plus.
- Ownership: You are organised, proactive, and comfortable progressively taking responsibility for your portfolio and results.
- Learning mindset: You are eager to develop expertise
