The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the boutique. They contribute to sales development, team leadership and compliance with the Maison’s retail procedures. In the absence of the Store Manager, they ensure business continuity.

Responsibilities and Duties

Sales Development

  • Maintaining an active presence on the shop floor and actively contributing to sales growth and client database development
  • Welcoming, advising and building loyalty with a discerning clientele
  • Representing the Astier de Villatte brand image and upholding the Maison’s standards
  • Assisting with customer disputes and specific payment transactions
  • Ensuring the quality of the sales approach and the effective sharing of product knowledge
  • Proactively suggesting ways to improve the customer experience and the boutique’s commercial performance

Customer Experience

  • Welcoming and assisting every customer with care and a personalised approach
  • Tailoring recommendations to each customer’s needs and expectations
  • Contributing to customer loyalty and the development of long-term client relationships
  • Ensuring the quality of the customer journey, from welcome to payment, across the entire team

Team Management

  • Supporting and motivating the team on a daily basis
  • Coaching the team to increase average transaction value and drive complementary sales
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and task allocation
  • Supporting and training new team members
  • Monitoring performance and reporting team needs to the Store Manager
  • Supervising the team and ensuring business continuity in the Store Manager’s absence

Boutique Management

Stock Management

  • Assisting with the monitoring of deliveries, transfers, replenishment and stock movements
  • Managing the follow-up of weekly orders
  • Ensuring product availability and anticipating replenishment needs to minimise stock-outs
  • Participating in stocktakes and monitoring stock discrepancies
  • Reporting any irregularities and specific needs to the Store Manager

Boutique Presentation and Maintenance

  • Ensuring the boutique is well maintained on a daily basis and consistently reflects the Maison’s image
  • Ensuring the proper presentation of products, merchandising and window displays
  • Ensuring that sales areas and stockrooms remain clean, organised and functional
  • Assisting with the implementation of merchandising updates and commercial activities
  • Identifying maintenance and upkeep requirements and reporting them to the Store Manager

Cash Register / Banking

  • Processing and checking payment transactions in accordance with established procedures
  • Monitoring cash registers and reporting any discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with cash-handling procedures

Reporting

  • Reporting relevant information to the Store Manager
  • Assisting with sales and team performance monitoring, and providing regular feedback on product performance
  • Reporting relevant information to the Retail Management team in the absence of the Store Manager

We are looking for a sunny, dynamic and enthusiastic personality, with a genuine passion for customer service and a natural ability to connect with people.   • 12 months minimum of professional experience in retail, ideally in luxury
  • Fluent in Italian & English, and mastery of a third language appreciated
  • Affinity for decoration, design and high-end products
  • Motivated, dynamic and rigorous
  • Impeccable presentation
  • Good humour and open-mindedness
