Senior Product Designer, Freelance | Healthcare / EMR
Help us design a healthcare product that doctors will actually enjoy using.
Oykomed is building a new digital healthcare platform to simplify the way pediatricians manage their clinical and administrative work.
We are currently designing a core part of the platform, including a new Electronic Medical Record and practice management experience, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to help us build it.
This is not a role where you will simply receive predefined screens to execute.
You will work directly with the Founder, engineers, pediatricians and domain experts. You will spend time understanding how doctors actually work, identifying where current workflows create friction, and turning complex requirements into clear and intuitive product experiences.
Because the team is small, you will be close to both the people making product decisions and the clinicians using the software. Good ideas can move quickly from discussion to prototype to product.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
• Understand real pediatric workflows through research and direct conversations with doctors and domain experts
• Turn complex clinical and administrative processes into simple and intuitive user experiences
• Design complete product flows, from initial concepts and information architecture through detailed UI
• Build prototypes and validate solutions before development
• Identify edge cases, states, dependencies and interaction logic
• Help us build and evolve a scalable design system
• Work closely with engineering throughout implementation
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are particularly interested in designers with:
• Strong product and systems thinking
• Excellent UX and interaction design skills
• Experience working on complex workflows and products with many interconnected parts
• The ability to listen carefully to users and domain experts and translate their needs into clear product decisions
• Strong UI and visual design skills
• Experience building or contributing to design systems
• Strong prototyping skills, from early concepts to high fidelity interactive prototypes
• The ability to take ownership of a product problem from research through implementation
Experience with healthcare products, EMRs, EHRs, clinical software or other complex operational software is a major advantage.
We also value designers who use AI assisted tools effectively to move faster without compromising design quality or judgement.
Professional fluency in Italian is required, as the role involves direct user research and collaboration with Italian pediatricians.
WHY THIS PROJECT IS INTERESTING
You will be joining at a stage when many important product decisions are still open.
You will have direct access to the Founder and to clinicians who actually use the product. This means you can influence not only how the interface looks, but how the underlying clinical workflows should work.
We are building software for pediatricians that brings together clinical records, practice management and intelligent automation in one product.
Our goal is simple: make sophisticated healthcare software feel much easier to use.
ENGAGEMENT
We are looking for someone who can start immediately.
• Remote
• Initial engagement of approximately 4 months
• Part time or full time freelance collaboration
• Compensation discussed based on seniority, experience and time commitment
We are flexible on the exact setup because we would rather adapt the engagement around a strong candidate than force everyone into the same structure.
INTERESTED?
Please send us your portfolio and CV.
We are particularly interested in case studies that show how you think, especially when dealing with complex workflows, difficult product decisions and products with many moving parts.
If you have taken something complicated and made it genuinely easier to use, we would like to see it.
If someone comes to mind who could be a strong fit, please feel free to share this opportunity with them.
