We are looking for a talented Robotics Software Platform Engineer to design and evolve the software stack, system utilities, and developer frameworks that power Arduino’s high-performance Linux platforms. What You’ll Work On

As a part of a team of talented engineers, you will:

  • Develop and maintain Python-based frameworks and libraries that abstract complex robotics standards into user-friendly APIs.
  • Architect containerized environments and runners optimized for robotics middleware on Linux embedded platforms.
  • Integrate industry-standard robotics patterns (such as ROS/ROS2) into the Arduino ecosystem, ensuring seamless interoperability.
  • Create high-quality example applications and documentation to define the "Golden Path" for developers building on our platform.
  • Collaborate with Software Architects to define technical solutions using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.
  • Guarantee consistency, efficiency and high quality to the Arduino codebase ensuring automated testing coverage and performing code reviews.
  • Deliver value through a strong collaborative approach working in a cross-functional team, contributing finding creative solutions to enhance Arduino applications and tools.

What You’ll Bring

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, or other technical related fields.
  • 5+ years of software development work experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, with a track record of building libraries, SDKs, or software frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Robotics middleware, specifically experience with ROS or ROS2 architectures.
  • Experience with Containerization (Docker) and orchestration within Linux-based systems.
  • High motivation and interest in pushing the boundaries of current technologies.
  • A "Developer Experience" mindset—you enjoy making complex systems easy for others to use.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with C++ for performance-critical middleware components.
  • Experience with distributed messaging protocols and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of MPU/MCU communication patterns, understanding how to architect software that interacts with real-time firmware subsystems.
  • Knowledge of Arduino or similar electronics.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines for embedded software and automated hardware testing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
