Italy – Remote / Field-based (travel required) Employment Type: Full-time About Shanghai Pytes Shanghai Pytes is a global provider of lithium battery and energy storage solutions. As we continue to expand in Europe, we are looking for a hands-on Technical Support Engineer to support our Residential and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) energy storage systems in Italy. You will be the technical bridge between customers, partners, and our R&D/service teams — covering pre-sales support, commissioning, troubleshooting, after-sales service, and training.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to distributors, installers, EPCs, and end customers for residential and C&I ESS.
* Support system design, product selection, configuration, commissioning, and grid connection.
* Troubleshoot BESS, PCS, battery, BMS, and EMS issues remotely and on-site; perform root cause analysis.
* Handle firmware upgrades, parameter settings, communication issues (Modbus, CAN, RS485, Ethernet), and monitoring platforms.
* Manage warranty/RMA cases, spare parts, and service reports.
* Deliver technical training and create local documentation, FAQs, and service bulletins.
* Work closely with HQ R&D, product, and quality teams to uplift issues & improve products.
* Ensure compliance with Italian safety and grid connection standards, e.g. CEI 0-21 / CEI 0-16.
* Collect market and customer feedback to support product localization. Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Energy, Automation, or related fields.
* 3+ years of technical support/service experience in energy storage, solar inverters, UPS, EV charging, or power electronics.
* Solid knowledge of LV/MV electrical systems, single/three-phase systems, electrical schematics, batteries, BMS, PCS, and EMS.
* Familiar with Italian grid codes and certification requirements for ESS; experience with CEI 0-21 / CEI 0-16 is strongly preferred.
* Fluent in Italian; professional working proficiency in English.
* Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
* Willing to travel within Italy and occasionally internationally.
* Valid driver’s license and eligible to work in Italy.
* Experience with leading ESS/inverter brands is a plus. Mandarin is a plus.
