Our ideal contractor combines strong design instincts with the technical skills to build, improve and troubleshoot websites independently. /p pWe’re particularly interested in someone who understands that a website is a communications tool. You should be able to understand the goal behind a project, recommend a practical solution and execute it without assuming every challenge requires a complete website redesign. /p pThis is a project-based contractor role with no guaranteed minimum number of hours. /p pbResponsibilities: /b /p ul liDesign and develop landing pages, campaign pages, microsites and other digital content /li liBuild, update and troubleshoot WordPress websites /li liImprove website navigation, information architecture and user experience /li liCreate or redesign newsrooms, resource centers, blogs and other content-heavy website sections /li liImplement website recommendations related to communications, content and SEO /li liAddress broken links, redirects and other technical website issues /li liImprove page layouts and mobile responsiveness /li liBuild and improve forms and integrations /li liSupport website migrations and redesigns /liliApply accessibility and usability best practices /li liSupport analytics, tracking and basic technical SEO /li liAssist with website maintenance, plugin management, backups and related technical needs /li liCollaborate with AFM and other communications, content, SEO and design partners as appropriate /li liRecommend efficient, practical solutions based on each client’s needs and budget /li /ul pbQualifications: /b /p pbRequired

Qualifications:
/b /p ul liDemonstrated professional web design and development experience /li liStrong WordPress experience /li liPortfolio demonstrating both design and development capabilities /li liWorking knowledge of HTML and CSS and ability to troubleshoot common website issues /li liUnderstanding of responsive design, accessibility and UX best practices /li liFamiliarity with technical and on-page SEO /li liExperience with website analytics and tracking /li liAbility to accurately scope projects and communicate anticipated costs and timelines /li liStrong communication and project management skills /li liAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines /li /ul pbPreferred

Qualifications:
