Join our dynamic and innovative NAND CELL Team at Micron's R&D site in Vimercate, Italy. As a NAND Cell Characterization & AI Tools Intern, you will participate in progressive NAND memory technology development. This outstanding role offers you the opportunity to compose and create AI-enabled tools for automating the analysis and processing of micro-probing characterization waveforms. Your contributions will support Micron's NAND product roadmap.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with CELL engineers to understand micro-probing workflows and waveform semantics.
- Build and implement modular AI components for waveform ingestion, preprocessing, and feature extraction.
- Develop a structured comparison engine to perform 1:1 delta analysis against Micron internal reference waveforms.
- Generate detailed reports with structured, human-readable summaries for engineer review.
- Implement an engineer-in-the-loop (HITL) validation interface to ensure human confirmation at critical decision points.
- Validate the robustness of tools through test cases and iterative engineering feedback.
- Document all modules, assumptions, and usage guidelines to ensure maintainability.
- Ensure all tasks conform to Micron's Code of Business Conduct and relevant intellectual property guidelines.
- Leverage on Atificial intelligence to optimize the workflow
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals including LLMs and embeddings.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python and/or C/C++.
- Basic knowledge of signal processing and time-domain waveform concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with NAND flash operations, including program/erase/read and WL/BL bias schemes.
- Experience with LLM/agent frameworks or orchestration pipelines.
- Knowledge of waveform processing libraries and oscilloscope data formats.
- Outstanding analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in both individual and team-based work environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
This position is perfect for high-reaching individuals looking to make a significant impact in the field of NAND memory technology.
For internships positions in Italy, Micron could pay Eur 900 – Eur 1200 per month, and will grant, in addition meal vouchers for each day worked onsite. The internship allowance is determined based on the highest level of education already completed at the start of the internship, regardless of gender and of any other factor protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
For working students positions in Germany Micron estimates it could pay from 15 Eur (gross) per hour. The exact amount is determined based on education and level of experience.
