An opportunity to work on the design and development of mechanical systems for space applications, within a fast-paced and highly technical engineering environment.
You’ll take designs from initial concept through to manufacture, integration and qualification, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop robust solutions for demanding applications.
What you’ll be involved in:- Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
- Creating detailed CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Supporting mechanical, structural and thermal analysis to validate designs
- Working across engineering disciplines to develop and optimise design solutions
- Contributing to design reviews, testing, integration and qualification
- Working closely with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and meet quality requirements
- Solving design challenges and driving improvements throughout the product development lifecycle
- Supporting the delivery of engineering projects against technical requirements and timescales
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within the space industry
- Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for space or other high-reliability applications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture
- Experience with CAD and engineering analysis tools such as Creo, NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS or equivalent
- Experience producing detailed engineering drawings, with a good understanding of GD&T and precision tolerancing
