We are seeking a motivated SAP FICO Consultant (m/f/d) to join our Business Applications team. Please note: depending on the location of the candidate, we are open to filling this position on our locations in Italy (Riese Pio X or Padua) or Slovenia (Grosuplje).

In this role, you will support the design, implementation, rollout, and optimization of SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling processes within SAP S/4HANA and integrated application landscapes. You will work closely with Finance, Controlling, IT teams, external partners, and international project teams to translate business requirements into effective SAP FICO solutions and contribute to successful transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, configure, and support SAP FI and CO processes in SAP S/4HANA, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, bank accounting, cost center accounting, internal orders, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.
• Translate Finance and Controlling business requirements into functional specifications, process designs, and SAP FICO configuration concepts.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders, controlling teams, IT teams, external vendors, and system integrators to deliver end-to-end SAP FICO solutions.
• Support SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, rollout, and optimization activities with a focus on Financial Accounting and Controlling.
• Coordinate and execute unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing for SAP FICO processes, reports, interfaces, and integrations.
• Prepare documentation, training materials, process descriptions, configuration guides, and solution handover documents.
• Support organizational change management, user adoption and key-user enablement related to SAP FICO solutions.
• Analyze and resolve incidents, defects, and process issues in cooperation with finance users, controlling users, and technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with company governance, SAP standards, internal controls, security policies, and regulatory requirements.

Your Profile

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Approximately 5 years of professional experience as an SAP FICO Consultant or in a comparable SAP functional consulting role.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, medical products, or international finance and controlling environments is an advantage.
• Solid hands-on experience with SAP FI and CO configuration and end-to-end finance and controlling processes, ideally in SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Experience in SAP implementation, rollout, migration, support, or process optimization projects.
• SAP S/4HANA Finance project experience, especially in record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash finance integration, cost controlling, or financial closing processes are an advantage.
• SAP FI/CO certification, SAP S/4HANA Finance certification, or SAP Activate knowledge is an advantage.
• Good understanding of integration points with other SAP modules such as MM, SD, PP, PS, and related applications.
• Experience working in international and cross-functional environments.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong functional knowledge of SAP FI and CO processes, customizing, master data, period-end closing, financial reporting, controlling structures, and document flows.
• Good understanding of SAP S/4HANA Finance capabilities and integration with surrounding SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into practical SAP FICO solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including structured incident and defect resolution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with finance users, controlling users, and technical teams.
