Senior Structural Engineer

Reports to: Mechanical team leader   To perform structural analyses of a radar payload, using FEM tools to support design, verification, and environmental qualification in a space-oriented development environment.  Full-time, 40 hours per week. Company Description:   MetaSensing is an innovative Italian remote sensing company founded in 2008 with the aim of commercializing the new compact, high resolution radar mapping technology.  In just a few years, MetaSensing has acquired numerous successful airborne radar campaigns completed at the Ka, Ku, X, C, S, L and P frequency bands, and developed drone and space-based radar systems for different applications.  Today MetaSensing is one of the unique companies in the world which offer cost effective airborne and space-based radar sensors and services both for commercial and security applications.  Combination of innovative technology and advanced processing techniques has made MetaSensing a fast growing, global company with projects in Europe, South East Asia, Middle East, North and South America.  Definition, execution, and interpretation of Finite Element Analyses of radar payload structures using Finite Element analyses (static, dynamic, buckling, fatigue as applicable) to support design decisions and qualification activities Support environmental qualification campaigns (vibration, shock) with test specifications and post-test correlation Interface with other engineering fields (among which integration, electronics, thermal) to best include all the SAR antenna requirements at early stages Communicate the activities results with clear and concise presentations, reports and qualification documentation  Proven experience with Finite Element Analyses for structural designs (e.g. Femap with Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, or equivalent)  Ability to build, validate, and correlate FEM models with test results  Experience supporting vibration test campaigns  Knowledge of metallic structures and basic understanding of composite materials  Knowledge of space products development lifecycle (from concept, through qualification, to delivery) and experience in the space sector or aerospace programs  Familiarity with environmental loads and qualification principles according to ECSS  Good knowledge of the English language for the working environment  Strong analytical mindset with good communication and team-working skills  Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in structural analysis roles Ability to interface with test houses, system engineers, and manufacturing teams  Experience with radar, RF payloads, or high-precision structures is a plus    Full-time, 40 hours per week.  For additional information or for the application, please send an email with your CV and cover letter to joinus@metasensing.
