The MSL (Emilia‑Romagna, Marche) is a field‑based scientific and subject‑matter expert for the assigned territory within the Medical Department, executing all assigned activities in accordance with Medical Excellence standards. The MSL is accountable to engage in non‑promotional, peer‑to‑peer, high quality scientific interactions with key external experts (KOLs) and other relevant HCPs / stakeholders, with the purpose of contributing to innovative healthcare partnerships and to improve the practice of medicine for better patient outcomes.

The MSL will act as the first point of contact in the field for medical/scientific aspects related to the assigned products/Therapeutic area (TA), working in close collaboration and synergy within the Medical Team.

Key responsibilities:
External Scientific Engagement:

Serve as the primary field‑based medical and scientific expert, ensuring non‑promotional, peer‑to‑peer, high quality and balanced scientific interactions

Develop effective and compliant scientific partnerships with KOLs/external experts and other relevant stakeholders (ie: PAGs representatives), while identifying opportunities to partner on disease awareness initiatives and/or collaborative research projects

Contribute to the appropriate identification, characterization of key thought leaders (KOLs) /other relevant external stakeholders

Insight Generation & Strategic Contribution

Be a strategic internal partner, gather and leverage insights for an impactful contribution in defining the local medical strategy and plan (LMP), ensuring the effective execution of the Field Medical Plan (FMP) for the assigned territory

Ensure the execution of a systematic and effective insights gathering collection on the field based on key insight topics (KITs) and related key insights questions (KIQs) towards actionable insights, reported timely and effectively

Establish a customer‑centric, compliant collaboration with cross‑functional field teams within the assigned territory, acting as a key team contributor on governance meetings and cross‑functional account planning

Medical Education & Scientific Support

Deliver high quality scientific communications and medical education on disease state/awareness, patient management, clinical evidence and new emerging data, through medical approved materials aligned with the medical communication plan and Medical Excellence quality standards

Address medical information inquiries and respond to unsolicited HCPs requests of scientific information about pipeline compounds and/or new indications in a timely and compliant manner, by utilizing approved medical materials

Support the Medical Advisor in developing educational content, disease‑awareness programs, and scientific resources.

Support effectively medical Advisory Boards and conduct scientific briefings / speaker trainings to HCPs in the field when appropriate

Contribute to the management of Patient Supported Program/s (PSP) and unsolicited nominal use requests (ex‑CU) received from HCPs, when applicable and in full compliance to local regulations

Participate to relevant medical congresses as per plan, collaborating on scientific summaries and internal reports

Deliver scientific training to new medical personnel and other internal cross‑functional stakeholders (ie: marketing, sales, access) as appropriate

Monitor the competitive environment and communicate within the Company as appropriate

Clinical Research & Evidence Generation

Contribute to the implementationand execution of company-sponsored clinical trials while providing scientific support in the management of Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISSs)

Explore RWE generation opportunities

Contribute to local pubblication plan by conveying internally independent scientific publication proposals from HCPs.

Compliance & Medical Excellence

Understand and ensure all field activities and materials adhere to internal medical governance standards, SOPs, and external codes of practice

Ensure prompt communication of AEs to the Pharmacovigilance department at affiliate and HQ level, providing scientific support as needed

Manage effectively medical operational and administrative responsibilities and complete trainings as per plan within the given deadline
