The Client
( undisclosed ) Our Client is a
multinational chemical-pharmaceutical company
with international footprint, currently undergoing an important
phase of growth and transformation. Within this context,
Finance
is playing an increasingly
strategic role
in supporting the business, with a strong focus on
performance management, operational excellence and value creation.
They are now looking for a
Corporate Industrial Controller
to strengthen their Controlling organization and contribute to the evolution of its controlling model.
Position – The role: Reporting to the
Group Industrial Controlling Director , the Corporate Industrial Controller will operate within a broad and international scope, covering the whole industrial value chain
across
Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain . The key dimensions of the role will be: Industrial Controlling : manage and further strengthen the core Industrial Controlling activities, ensuring a solid understanding of industrial performance, product costs and profitability, and the overall analytics promptness of a sophisticated, regulated business. Transformation&Projects : contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of the
new Industrial Controlling model , combining recurring responsibilities with a significant
project and transformation component . Business Partnership : work closely with all relevant stakeholders within Finance and across Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain, and develop arguments in front of Executives to sustain how financial and operational information are translated into compelling insights to support business decisions. The candidate will also play an active role in promoting a culture of efficiency across the organization, with the goal to maximize the value creation of the initiatives carried out in the industrial division. Development Path : grow within a role designed from the outset around a
broad
scope and a
clear development
path, with increasing responsibilities over time.
Key Objectives and Responsibilities Gain trust within the organization at all levels and establish solid relationships within Corporate functions and stakeholders, becoming a credible Business Partner to the organization. Lead the implementation of the
new Industrial Controlling Model , with particular focus on
Product Costs, Capex and Inventory , supporting the related process redesign. Contribute to the
S&OP process , strengthening the connection between Supply Chain and Finance Play an
active
role in the evolution of the
SAP environment and controlling model , including:
Material Ledger implementation
on one side , aimed at developing a consistent financial and industrial data model and enhancing profitability analysis across the value chain; and
Plant efficiency project streams
on the other , through
PMO
initiatives related to
cost deployment, plant efficiency, capacity utilization and decomplexity Enhance the
current Controlling / Reporting Model
to enable quicker and effective analysis of industrial performance. Manage
Budget, Forecast and Planning
activities and cadence for the relevant perimeter, identifying trends and challenging figures, and assumptions when appropriate Develop financial evaluations and Business Cases, including Capex investments and Make vs Buy analyses Provide both Finance and Business stakeholders the information required to increase awareness, sustained by robust analytics, and identify actions to improve P&L and cash flow performance Support the deployment of Industrial Controlling
best practices
across the organization and the progressive
automation of processes and reporting.
Requirements (“Must have”): Hard Skills Degree in
Economics, Business Administration or Engineering Approximately
8 - 10 years
of professional experience, with a solid track record in
Industrial / Manufacturing Controlling , preferably
gained within structured performance-driven organizations Good understanding of manufacturing processes and their main operational and financial value drivers, to sustain business judgement Execution leadership rooted on strong knowledge of
product costing, cost accounting, industrial performance management, inventory and Capex controlling.
Additional
knowledge
of Procurement and Supply Chain would be nice to have Solid trackrecord in Budget, Forecast, Planning and variance analysis Strong hands-on capability in managing complexity: a significant amount of data in parallel with developing financial models Experience in
