Offer Description
Thoracic ultrasound, understood as the assessment of the lung parenchyma, pleural line, and chest wall, has been increasingly used in recent years, particularly after the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
Despite the growing interest in this technique, several aspects remain only partially clarified. Indeed, the presence of the air-tissue interface limited its use for many years, until the diagnostic value of ultrasound artefacts was recognized.
The possibility of using and analysing ultrasound raw data, before their transformation into greyscale images, together with data obtained from diaphragmatic motion-tracking software, may improve our understanding of the technique and expand its potential applications. This could allow thoracic ultrasound to be adapted to patient groups of different ages, with particular attention to older populations. xysqume
The aim of this project is therefore to evaluate the potential use of lung ultrasound raw data and diaphragmatic motion tracking.
