Offer Description
This research activity focuses on the experimental characterization and modeling of ion-exchange membranes to assess physicochemical and transport properties. The experimental phase involves investigating key parameters such as ionic conductivity, osmotic water flux, permselectivity, and chemical stability under diverse operational conditions. In parallel, advanced theoretical and numerical models based on Stephan-Maxwell approach have to be developed and validated against experimental data to simulate mass transport mechanisms and predict membrane behavior. The integration of these two approaches aims to optimize membrane performance for application in advanced energy storage and separation technologies, such as flow batteries and electrodialysis.
