Offer Description

The research project aims to investigate cold spray as an additive manufacturing technology through the development and validation of advanced numerical models capable of describing the deposition process and predicting the final properties of the deposited material. Particular attention will be devoted to simulating particle impact, deformation, and bonding mechanisms, and to investigating the relationships between process parameters, deposition conditions, and the resulting deposit properties, including through the development of AI-based models. The numerical activities will be complemented by an experimental campaign involving the production of deposits under controlled conditions and their advanced characterization. Microstructure, porosity, residual stresses, adhesion, and mechanical properties will be investigated. The experimental results will be used to validate and refine the models, ultimately providing predictive tools for process optimization and the design of components.

Oral test aimed at ascertaining candidates’ aptitude and suitability to carry out the activity covered by the contract, as well as at assessing their knowledge of English and/or other languages relevant to the activities to be performed (up to 60 points)
