We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Italy and contribute to the next generation of innovative lighting solutions.

Your responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic hardware architectures for automotive lighting systems
  • Develop LED driver circuits, LED PCBAs, headlamp control modules, and power management solutions (SMPS, DC/DC converters, linear regulators)
  • Create electrical schematics, select automotive-grade components, and prepare hardware documentation including eBOMs
  • Perform circuit simulation, worst‑case analysis, and tolerance analysis
  • Define PCB placement, routing, and stack‑up requirements and support PCB layout activities using Altium Designer
  • Review PCB layouts regarding electrical robustness, EMC compliance, thermal performance, and manufacturability
  • Support hardware testing, validation, debugging, and root‑cause analysis
  • Collaborate with mechanical, optical, and software engineering teams for system integration
  • Support automotive communication interfaces such as CAN and LIN
  • Contribute to DFMEA, test planning, design rules, and quality documentation
  • Maintain hardware documentation according to automotive and internal standards

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience in hardware design within automotive or industrial electronics
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, LED driver circuits, and mixed‑signal design
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools (PSpice, LTSpice, Matlab, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer and PCB design principles
  • Understanding of EMC requirements and automotive communication systems
  • Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills
  • Hands‑on mindset and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Good communication skills in Italian and English
