Offer Description

The research activities will focus on evaluating the impact of sustainable plant protection treatments on the management of the major grapevine diseases, as well as on the structure, composition, and diversity of the bacterial and fungal microbial communities associated with the plant. The experimental activities will include the design of the experimental plan and sampling protocol, the assessment of disease incidence and severity using appropriate phytopathological indices and rating scales, plant material sampling, sample preparation, and DNA extraction. Microbiome analyses will be carried out using highthroughput sequencing technologies to characterize the bacterial and fungal microbial communities associated with grapevine. The aim is to generate new insights into the role of the microbiome in grapevine health and its response to biotic stresses, thereby contributing to the development of innovative, effective, and environmentally sustainable plant protection strategies.
