A leading European player in industrial and logistics real estate, currently expanding its presence in the Italian market, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Rome office.

The role reports directly to the Italian Managing Director and carries full responsibility for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the entire project lifecycle - from permitting and pre-construction through to final handover.

The ideal candidate has solid experience in the logistics/industrial sector, with both technical and managerial skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and architects to define project specifications;
  • Supervise and direct site activities, including contractor coordination and construction progress;
  • Prepare, review, and approve the project schedule covering engineering, procurement, and construction phases;
  • Monitor progress reports, cost control, and site performance, ensuring company KPIs are achieved;
  • Ensure all permits, agreements, and documentation are in place prior to project commencement.
  • Organize and lead site coordination meetings, issue minutes, and follow up on action items;
  • Lead negotiations and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Oversee the procurement plan, evaluate bids, and ensure cost efficiency;
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors according to schedule, budget, and quality compliance;
  • Prepare regular progress reports and update line management on project status;
  • Coordinate with the Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with legislation and site safety plans;
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and tenants, ensuring satisfaction and proactive issue resolution;
  • Identify project risks, handle unforeseen issues, and implement corrective measures when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or Architecture;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction and project management, ideally within the logistics/industrial sector and in international environments;
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities;
  • Proven skills in project scheduling, cost tracking, and progress reporting;
  • Solid knowledge of Italian urban planning and building regulations;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and industry-related software;
  • Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams;
  • Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken);
  • Willingness to travel across Italy as required.
