Offer Description

The project investigates the role of the FKBP51s splice isoform in tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and immunosuppression, aiming to overcome resistance to immunotherapy in melanoma. Research activities will explore the contribution of FKBP51s to macrophage polarization and its potential as a therapeutic target for metabolic reprogramming, through the evaluation of small molecules capable of modulating its activity. Functional assays will be performed using primary immune cells, syngeneic mouse melanoma models, and patient-derived organoids. The analysis of TAM surface markers, validated in patient blood samples and tumor-infiltrating immune cells, will aim to identify cellular signatures supporting patient selection and treatment response monitoring.
