In this role you will support governance and senior management with data-driven insights to maximise value across Chiesi’s pipeline. You’ll build reliable projections of R&D costs, workload, and likelihoods of success, and lead standardized project cards for evaluation. You will align cross-functionally on key assumptions, drive PTRS updates, and maintain core planning tools, enabling strategic decision-making and efficient resource allocation. This position sits at the crossroads of strategy, planning, and execution within R&D.

- Prepare long-term quantitative projections of pipeline costs and resources with input from GPMs and GPLs
- Perform short- and long-term R&D workload analyses
- Support R&D headcount planning based on workload projections
- Coordinate consistency between cost projections and long-term planning with Finance R&D Planning and Control
- Maintain and improve R&D long-term planning processes and tools with benchmark insights
- Ensure alignment between cost, workload, and PTRS assessments with internal and external opportunities
- Collaborate with GPMs and R&D Performance Management Head to update PTRS
- Ensure integrity of Planisware and reporting tools (e.g., Innovation Dashboard)
- Support qualitative and quantitative R&D strategy definition and refresh cycles
- Upload long-term projections to FP&A system (BOARD) and guide project prioritization with Global Strategy and Franchises
- Manage standardized project cards to evaluate R&D pipeline business cases
- Support cross-functional alignment at XRC meetings and value/strategic outlook analysis
- Management Engineering or Business Economics degree with pharma R&D/Innovation experience or scientific degree with MBA or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of pharma R&D processes and portfolio management
- Proven experience in R&D strategy, portfolio management, or business planning in pharma/biotech
- High-level data analytics skills; forecasting and simulation tools familiarity
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Strategic mindset focused on value creation and efficiency
- Ability to operate across functions in a dynamic environment
- Fluency in English
