About The Business Unit

The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across sectors including thermal generation, hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission and distribution networks. We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle, from concept and design through construction, operations, decommissioning, repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we are helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

Overview Of The Role

Due to recent project wins and with further exciting opportunities in the pipeline, we are looking for a Resource Lead to join our Energy Transition business in the Genoa office.

The Resource Lead will be responsible for leading resource planning, allocation and capability development across the Energy Transition team, with a focus on detailed design, Owner’s Engineer (OE) and Technical Advisory (TA) services.

The role will require that projects are resourced with the right people, skills and leadership to deliver safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This includes supporting workload forecasting, staff deployment, recruitment, succession planning and capability growth across a portfolio of energy transition projects.

The Resource Lead will work closely with project managers, technical leads, discipline leads and market leaders to support delivery across Energy Transition technologies.

  • Lead resource planning and allocation across the Energy Transition detailed design, Owner’s Engineer and Technical Advisory projects
  • Ensure projects are staffed with the right people, skills and capacity
  • Forecast workload, monitor utilisation and identify resource gaps or bottlenecks
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and capability development
  • Work closely with project managers, technical leads and discipline leads to align resources with delivery needs
  • Contribute to business planning, bid support and efficient deployment of resources across the portfolio

Candidate specification

Essential

  • Degree qualified in engineering or a related technical discipline such as electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, process, power or energy engineering
  • Proven experience in resource management, team coordination, operations or project delivery within engineering, energy or infrastructure
  • Good understanding of multidisciplinary engineering project delivery
  • Strong planning, coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make balanced resourcing decisions
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of utilisation and delivery performance

Desirable

  • Chartered status with a relevant professional institution, or working towards chartership
  • Experience in energy transition sector
  • Experience supporting detailed design, Owner’s Engineer or Technical Advisory services
  • Experience in an engineering consultancy or project-based delivery environment
  • Familiarity with workforce planning, recruitment and capability development
