Regional Research Director Europe

Overview

In this role, you lead a Europe-wide team of Regional Research Managers to steer the research, innovation, and academic collaboration strategy. You will build and manage high-impact partnerships with academia, healthcare providers, and government bodies to advance scientific innovation and business growth. You will engage executives and key stakeholders to accelerate research output and long-term value creation. The position can be based in any European country with a GE HealthCare entity, offering a broad, impact-driven leadership opportunity.

Responsabilità

Define and execute regional research and collaboration strategy aligned with priorities Identify and lead strategic partnerships with academia, healthcare systems, and government agencies Develop long-term collaboration frameworks creating scientific, clinical, and commercial value Represent research and collaboration activities with external partners Advise senior leadership on opportunities, trends, and investments Lead and develop a team of Regional Research Managers across geographies Set objectives, development plans, and priorities for the team Build capabilities in collaboration management, grant funding, and stakeholder engagement Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation and execution Oversee regional portfolio of collaborations, grants, and innovation programs Lead executive relationships with high-priority strategic accounts and flagship partnerships Ensure milestones and outcomes are achieved and govern programs via governance reviews Define regional funding strategy and align with the Grant Office Identify and prioritize funding opportunities and support grant applications Maintain relationships with funding agencies and innovation networks Oversee funding pipelines, compliance, and reporting Engage with senior executives and external partners to advance partnerships Represent GE HealthCare at conferences and forums Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, Product Development, Commercial, Government Affairs) Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and monitor budgets and risks Provide executive updates and strategic recommendations

Requisiti fondamentali

PhD, MD, or advanced degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare, Medical Imaging, or related field Significant experience leading research, innovation, academic partnerships, or collaboration programs in healthcare, med-tech, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related industries Proven experience managing teams and developing high-performing talent Proven success in developing strategic partnerships with academia, hospitals, research organizations, and government agencies Strong experience in research grant acquisition and multi-stakeholder project leadership Experience influencing executive stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives Strong understanding of governance, regulatory, contracting, and IP considerations Strategic and visionary leadership Cross-cultural collaboration Influence without authority Grant funding and funding program management Research governance, regulatory, and IP considerations Cross-functional program leadership
