Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting a BIM Specialist to join our Electrical & Instrumentation Team within the Life Science division based in Milan, working on Pharmaceutical and Bio Tech projects across Europe and internationally. The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Set‑up and coordinate the 3D model design carried out by Wood Execution Centers located in India, providing specific E&I technical support, ensuring performance and monitoring compliance with the project budget and schedule.
  • Pay visits to the Execution Centers.
  • Set‑up and coordinate the 3D model design carried out by third parties involved in development of project’s E&I activities.
  • Carry out and manage the 3D modeling activities relevant to electrical, low currents and instrumentation design, in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
  • Carry out and manage the E&I design, such as power layout, low current layout, lighting calculation and layout, fire & gas layout, substation layout, control room layout, etc.
  • Prepare electrical and instrument installation details and hook‑ups.
  • Explore innovative ways to use BIM in engineering.

  • High School Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree (technical background preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering company environment (Life Sciences, industrial plants or similar sectors are considered a plus).
  • Strong experience with BIM tools, with proven proficiency in Autodesk Revit for E&I modeling.
  • Knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation design principles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Interest and aptitude for coordination of third parties and remote execution centers.
  • Strong passion for BIM technologies and digital engineering.
  • Availability to work on assignment at clients’ or Wood’s sites/offices, when required.
  • Fluent in Italian and English (C1 level appreciated).
  • The person must be eligible to work in Italy.

Contract & Classification

  • Contract type: Permanent.
  • Collective Agreement (CCNL): Industria Metalmeccanica (CNEL C011).
  • Job Classification level: Impiegato, consistent with role requirements and applicable CCNL.

Compensation

  • Gross Annual Salary: the initial gross annual salary will be €45,000, paid in 14 instalments.
  • The compensation package will include applicable CCNL elements and company benefits.
  • Variable pay and additional benefits will be detailed during the selection process.
