Global Director of Supplier Quality

Job Purpose

The Global Supplier Quality Director will lead supplier quality management initiatives across the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions while aligning with global quality processes. This role is critical in ensuring the highest quality of products by developing and maintaining supplier quality standards and fostering strong supplier partnerships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies for the EMEA and APAC regions in alignment with global quality processes as defined in Enersys Supplier Quality Manual.

Global Supplier Quality Processes: Establish and maintain global supplier quality processes including audit schedules, supplier evaluations, and performance metrics.

Supplier Audits: Conduct and oversee supplier audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards, both regionally and globally.

Quality Metrics: Monitor, analyze, and report on supplier quality metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement.

Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to supplier quality within the EMEA and APAC supply chain and ensure alignment with global risk assessments.

Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring that quality requirements are clearly communicated and understood.

Other Key Responsibilities

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, engineering, and operations teams to ensure supplier quality alignment across regions and globally.

Training: Lead and develop supplier quality training programs for internal staff and suppliers, harmonizing training initiatives with global standards.

Compliance: Ensure supplier adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements within the EMEA and APAC regions, as well as globally.

Reporting: Provide monthly reports on supplier quality performance to senior management, including insights into global supplier performance.

Team Leadership : Manage and mentor the Supplier Quality team across Americas, EMEA and APAC regions, coordinating with global quality teams.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 20 years of experience in quality management; at least 10 years in a leadership role. Experience managing suppliers at Global level, and familiarity with global quality processes. Strong understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and Six Sigma, etc. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time globally.
