RINA is currently recruiting for a GIS Consultant  to join its office in Genoa, Milan, Rome - Italy  within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.

Mission

The ideal candidate will work on challenging offshore and onshore projects as GIS Consultant, collating, processing and interpreting geoscience data (geophysical, geological and geotechnical data) within a team that delivers a wide spectrum of services including:

geo-data spatial analysis;

database development;

application development;

remote sensing data management;

mobile/web mapping.

Key Accountabilities

Support in geological projects (ArcGIS); Developing desktop and cloud-based GIS workflows and tools; Use of SSDM data modelling; Provide technical support in developing ground models based on geo-data integration; Creating and management of ESRI and open source web GIS solutions; Supporting and working with other GIS users within the Company; Contributing to technical and reports and presentations; Contributing to technical innovation and development;  Supporting wider business development and proposal activities

Education

Master’s Degree in Geology or Engineering GeneralOther in Geography

Qualifications

MSc degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Geology or Engineering with specific focus on Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or Geomatics ;

Having at least 3 years of experience  in spatial data and metadata handling and analysis, GIS and remote sensing applications focused on geoscience projects ;

Good knowledge of ESRI GIS Tools;

Knowledge of QGIS and/or FME analysis software as a plus;

Ability to create geodatabase, the knowledge of SSDM data modelling will be considered as a plus;

Ability to develop geo-models and geostatistical tools using ESRI Model Builder and/or QGIS Processing Modeller;

knowledge of some scripting language to create/customise geospatial software applications (Python, SQL, Javascript, and others );

AutoCad drafting capabilities and knowledge of its mapping tools as a plus;

Experience of creating web mapping solutions using ESRI or Open Source technology will be considered as a plus;

Remote sensing and satellite data processing and management is a plus;

Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a wider consultancy team;

Good level of English (both spoken and written)
