As soon as you start at Flowserve’s Sales Team you will lead and coordinate strategic Project Sales activities with selected EPC Contractors Accounts on pumps in Italy. The position will be based in Desio (Italy) and report into the Project Sales Director in Europe.

First and foremost, we expect you to maintain good business relations with your customer base. You will serve as your customers primary contact for all business dealings, technically and commercially. You will drive Sales Projects through their entire cycle, ensuring all customer concerns are being addressed including customer needs assessment, develop sales presentations, RFQs and proposal coordination, pricing negotiations, commercial and legal discussions, quality, warranty claims, etc.

Your focus on EPC contractors set your job apart from our main sales activities. You will step in a global role with local focus, driving projects that vary in size between $100k and $15M. You will significantly impact our new built sales pipeline and therefore your role will have a high level of visibility. To drive your business you maintain and develop relationships with key customers and trade organizations, understanding and solidifying purchase agreements, customer alliances and market trends. To support organizational goals you continuously update your sales approach and develop and implement marketing plans aligned with regional sales objectives. In this job, you will also:

Develop a keen understanding of Flowserve operations to enhance selling effectiveness and coordinate selling efforts with other internal and 3rd party selling channel partners.

Educate customers on the quality, features and uses of our products through the full use of the company’s marketing materials.

Collaborate with application engineers, product team, and manufacturing to ensure customers’ needs are met.

Guide the organization with regards pricing and expected MLP.

Coordinate multiple BU’s during the bidding and order fulfilment stage acting as a one Flowserve entity.

Support operations during contract close-outs and LDs negotiations. Follow-up on overdue receivables.

Develop and establish new prospective customers.

Conduct regular research to identify and constantly monitor new customer needs, competitors, industry trends and technological developments.

Requirements:

To be successful as Project Sales Engineer you have to be a dynamic, self-motivated individual who understands the pump business and has the capacity to successfully communicate to achieve growth. Essentially, you combine the best of two worlds, being both a result driven sales engineer and in-depth specialist with a keen eye for details. When it comes to sales you are a solid partner for our customers’ internal stakeholders. Connecting on both personal and technical level with stakeholder that vary from executives to engineers comes naturally for you. To present yourself as a solid partner you organize your work properly and demonstrate your skills in leading meetings, including setting agendas, preparing, facilitating discussions and assigning follow-up activities. On the technical side you have the ability to identify most suitable and competitive products as well as to coordinate with R&D team possible new developments. Furthermore you have:

A bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, business administration, or related field.

Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.

Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.

Good leadership and teamwork skills.

Experience in the oil & gas, energy, water, paper and/or chemical industry

Proficiency in English

Knowledge of the design and operational requirements of rotating pumps, mechanical seals and related equipment
