As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:
  • Lead and support data engineering and software development activities across various technology projects.
  • Be responsible for setting up and managing robust data engineering pipelines, processing data, and utilizing machine learning frameworks and tools.
  • Develop software in Python, ensuring high standards in code quality, configuration management, and adherence to the SDLC within a cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Define and document architecture, updating project documentation, and liaising with stakeholders such as field trial organizers, local IT teams, and accreditation authorities.
  • Manage data to ensure that both the software developed and the data acquired are handled in accordance with internal guidelines and metadata management best practices.
  • Configure pipelines and implement DevOps tools, specifically within environments using Microsoft Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Participate in Agile Development processes, following the SCRUM framework.

What You Bring to the Table:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Senior-level experience with a broad skill set in Data and Software Engineering, demonstrating the ability to independently handle tasks and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Expertise in Python software development, with a good understanding of cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Experience in data management and familiarity with DevOps configurations and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Professional experience with technologies like Apache Airflow, Dask, DataBricks, GitLab, and Microsoft Azure is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of environmental and geospatial data, and familiarity with frameworks and tools like Apache Atlas, Microsoft Purview, NATO Software Factory, NetCDF, Streamlit, and TensorFlow is a plus.

  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.
