We have an opportunity for a Development Engineer

This position will be based in Ostiglia (Italy) and can partially be done from home. This role will report to Manager Engineering in our Mobile Solutions division.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage new product and media development, design of new concepts, new patent (IP) of Hydraulic and Liquid filters. Organize, perform and analyze development tests in order to secure expected results and performance data. Competitors benchmarking to fine tune own developments of components and modules. Drive optimization of existing products in cooperation with cross functional parties.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Product & Technology Ideation

Skill in unstructured problem solving to create intellectual property.

Develop solutions to optimize product portfolio.

Development Projects

Perform research to convert new technologies into products.

Use mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to advance engineering projects.

Meet design and requirement specifications per project timeline.

Perform cost analysis.

Ability to interpret technical requirements and strong attention to detail to manage and achieve target specifications in complex projects.

Test / Development:

Organize, design, and carry out tests.

Analyze test results for development projects to secure program objectives and provide optimum distribution chances to the sales department.

Determine testing needs (e.g., equipment, resources, procedures) and ensure they are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Project Management

Analyze of development projects and schedule, organize and carry out tests to secure the development results.

Manage multiple development projects simultaneously in a way that anticipates and proactively resolves problems early in the development process.

Establish technical program objectives and product specifications to meet Marketing and Manufacturing needs.

Technological Advancement

Keep informed of new or improved designs, methods, techniques, materials, and other advances with potential applications to enhance Donaldson's competitive advantage.

Support the direction of future product developments or applications based on technical trends and platforms.

Provide input and guidance concerning potential use and benefit of emerging technologies

YOUR PROFILE

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or similar field Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience Innovative mindset to study and and leverage intellectual property Fluent verbal and written English/Italian, any other language is an asset General knowledge about manufacturing methods, capabilities and materials Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate well at all levels

Preferred Qualification:

Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical or similar field Former professional experience of 5 years of relevant engineering experience Experience with commercial CAD/CAE/CFD/FEA software History of granted patents
