We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to support our growing and dynamic team. 
As a Senior Hardware Engineer in AIKO, you will play a pivotal role in designing future hardware platforms to enable Artificial Intelligence in space. Leveraging your expertise in hardware engineering, you will oversee all aspects of the platform’s definition and design bringing valuable insights and leadership to our hardware development team. 

Tasks

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading hardware platforms definition and design processes, ensuring alignment with our overall product strategy and objectives. 
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications for hardware components. 
  • Managing external service providers and consultants involved in hardware design activities, including PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly, to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables. 
  • Conducting thorough design reviews and implementing improvements to optimise performance, reliability, and manufacturability. 
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations 
  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including presenting technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences. 
Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hardware design engineering 
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, simulation software, and hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog). 
  • Strong understanding of hardware design principles, including analog and digital circuit design. 
  • Experience in managing external service providers and consultants for PCB design projects. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners. 
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to hardware development. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results independently and as part of a team. 
Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the development of hardware platforms for the space industry. 
  • Knowledge of main standards and protocols relevant to the space industry, such as ECSS and CCSDS. 
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering principles and techniques for space applications.
